bullet

How to develop and use a family code word

bullet

How to recognize dangerous situations when "things are out of place."

bullet

Why it’s not how a bad guy looks, but how he acts, that makes him dangerous.

bullet

How strangers endear themselves to our children prior to an abduction

The series comes complete with scripts and is split track for your talent to voice.

After giving parents & kids the information they need to stay safe, your station takes a proactive position on child safety by offering the Safe & Sound card in conjunction with a sponsor and a local shopping mall.

The value of the Safe & Sound card is reflected in a recent headline in USA Today; "When Child Is Missing, Photo Is Priceless." If a child disappears, parents can instantly hand authorities their Safe & Sound card because its carried in dads wallet or moms purse. The front of the card features a color picture of the child and vital personal information such as height and weight. The back of the card has emergency instructions for parents and your station logo.

The need for using the Safe & Sound card does not have to be something as sinister as an abduction. The card comes in handy when parents are separated from their child in shopping malls, amusement park, or other crowed public place. Parents simply hand it to police or security officials, who can make color copies quickly.

Parents Respond to Safe & Sound

Safe & Sound will bring thousands of children and their parents to your event. Seven hundred kids had their ID’s made in ONE day in Flint. The 700 children translate into about 1,400 adults coming to the mall that hosted the event.

The Safe & Sound card is a constant reinforcement of your stations commitment to child safety. What other program puts your logo in a viewer’s wallet or purse? Another strength of the Safe & Sound card is that parents show it to other parents. The strong word of mouth generates interest. WJRT holds 4 Safe & Sound card shoots at various malls in its DMA each year! WAOW is expanding the program to include safety demonstrations at elementary schools as well as the mall event.
